As Pacific Northwest poultry farmers, we faced the same choice every time we bought feed. Cheap industrial feed full of GMO fillers, corn, soy and vague byproducts. Or organic, priced out of reach.
So we built our own mill in Kettle Falls. Red Bridge Farm is a family and veteran-owned business making small-batch feed we trust with our own animals, and our own family.

Why we leave out corn and soy.
Most feed on the shelf is built around corn and soybean meal. Not because they’re the best nutrition, but because they’re the cheapest way to hit a protein number. We build our feed with no corn and no soy, and a national nutrient-density study put it to the test. Osprey Hill Farm sent several of their pasture-raised birds, fed nothing but Red Bridge, to an independent lab alongside other pastured birds and conventional retail chicken.

The balance is the thing you can change.
As a society we eat far more omega-6 than we should. Modern diets run heavy on omega-6 and short on omega-3, and that imbalance is one of the drivers of inflammation in our bodies. The ideal is somewhere between 1:1 and 1:4. If you keep animals to feed your own family, the feed you buy is one of the few places you control that balance directly. So we formulated with omega-3-rich ingredients, no corn, no soy, and we mill fresh to order.
What the animal eats ends up in your kitchen.
The fat in an egg, a piece of meat or a glass of milk tracks what the animal was fed. That’s why omega-3 eggs exist at a premium in the store. The reverse is just as true: feed built on corn and soy is heavy in omega-6, and it shows up on your plate.
Why corn and soy are in almost everything.
Cost. Corn is the cheapest energy and soybean meal is the cheapest protein, and both are high in omega-6. Then the feed sits, often for months, while vitamins degrade and fats oxidize.
